Trekking in Ganesh Himal is as adventure bounded as trekking in other Himalaya Ranges of Nepal. This trekking area is located in the central eastern region of the country. This spectacular trek offers an outstanding view of the snow-capped Himalayas and a chance to participate in the lifestyle of the local inhabitants and know about their culture. The name to the mountain range is derived from the legendary deity lord Ganesha. This range can be clearly seen from the Kathmandu valley itself. Ganesh Himal Range is formed of Ganesh I, Ganesh II, Ganesh III and Ganesh IV. This belt of mountains forms a major beauty to the country. This range is situated between the valley of Buddhi Gandaki in the west and Bhote Koshi River in the east.
The valleys in the North of the Ganesh range too are complete wilderness and away from much of the trekkers. The trek starts from Trishuli following the upper valley landscapes. During the walk you can enjoy the panoramic view of the mountains. Walking through the banks of river and watch the ever-smiling friendly people add refreshment to your trek. Visiting these local inhabitants who live in fortress like roof-top houses in these remote villages becomes more passionate. This journey through Himalaya ranges and green valley is very enjoyable and also a tough one.
The major Himalaya ranges that you are likely to watch are Langtang range, Boudha Himal, Hiuchuli and Ganesh Himal itself. The highest altitude we climb in this trek is 4,200m at Shing La Pass and 4,100m at Pangsang La Pass. These two passes are another charm to the trek which is also listed among the most beautiful passes in the country.
This trek to Ganesh Himal ends in Dhading from where we catch a drive to Kathmandu.
