Mount Everest, world’s highest mountain, lies in the lap of this country with a height of 8,848 meters. This mountain rewards the country with the name “Roof of the World”. Along with Mount Everest, this country owns eight mountains among the ten highest mountains in the world. In addition to this, there are altogether 14 mountains that are above 8,000 meters and 1,300 mountains that are above 6,000 meters in height. These reasons make this country a very suitable one for mountain expedition. The favourite mountains for mountaineers are among Mt Everest [8,848m/29,028ft], Mt Kanchenjunga [8,586m/28,169ft], Mt Lhotse [8,516m/27,939ft], Mt Makalu [8,463m/27,765ft], Mt Cho Oyu [8,201m/26,906ft], Mt Dhaulagiri [8,167m/26,794ft], Mt Manaslu [8,163m/26,781ft] and Mt Annapurna [8,091m/26,545ft].
Due to the wide varieties of altitudes and ranges of mountains, Nepal is extremely popular in tourism industry. Explorers from all over the world chose this country as their mountaineering destination. The country opened the doors to visitors in the 1950’s. Since then peak climbers from all over the world crave to conquer the Himalayas of Nepal. Ranges from smaller to the world’s highest peak provide explorers with more options and a wide range of altitudes.
Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu and transfer to hotel. Rest day in Kathmandu. Overnight stay in hotel
Day 02: Full day sightseeing tour in Kathmandu Valley [1,338m/4,389ft]. Back to hotel and overnight stay
Day 03: Drive 3 hours to rafting spot of Trishuli River [600m/2,000ft]. You will raft on the white water rapids of grade 3 to 4. Dinner by the riverside in the evening. Camp overnight
Day 04: After breakfast, again you will raft for a couple of hours and then you will proceed to Chitwan National Park [181m/5,94ft]. Camp overnight
Day 05: Jungle safari for 3 hours or visit Elephant breeding farm to see how elephants breed, young ones trained and tamed. Elephant back safari or Jeep safari [Optional]. In the evening, enjoy Tharu cultural show by local inhabitants. Camp overnight
Day 06: After an early breakfast, drive to Pokhara [827m/2,713ft] [150 km, 5 hours]. After refreshment, a walk along the lakesides. Hotel overnight
Day 07: Full day sightseeing of Pokhara including Mahendra Cave, Davis Fall, Gupteshwor Cave, Bindabashini Temple, boating in Phewa Lake for one hour. Back to hotel and stay overnight
Day 08: You will be transferred by car to Naya pool [2,070m/6,791 ft] which takes about 2 hours. Then you start to trek via Birethanti [1,100m/3,608ft]. You will follow the bank of Bhurungdi Khola until Tikhedunga [1,623m/5,325ft]. Then you will have a bit steep up of an hour walk till Ulleri [2073m]. Overnight in the lodge in Ulleri [2,073m/6,801ft].
Day 09: Trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani [2874m/9429ft]; you will gain gradually more altitudes on this day. You will walk about 4-5 hours.Overnight in Lodge in Ghorepani
Day 10: Trek from Ghorepani to Tadapani [2,625m/8,612ft]; early in the morning you walk up to Poon hill [3,164m/10,381ft] to have sunrise view to the Annapurna massif and Dhaulagiri and other ranges. You will be lost at this moment into the Shangri-La. After coming back from Poon hill, you will have breakfast then start to walk down to Deurali on the way to Tadapani. All the way, you will walk through the forest in peaceful and calm atmosphere. Overnight at lodge in Tadapani
Day 11: Descend from Tadapani to Ghandruk [1,984 m/6,509 ft]; it’s very easy walk. You will see all the Annapurna and Machapuchchre snow capped peaks right in front of you all the way down from Ghorepani. Ghandruk is a beautiful Gurung Village. Most of them have been in British Gurkha military. You will see the Gurung Culture. They are smiling every time and hospitable. Lodge overnight
Day 12: Descend down about 6hrs from Ghandruk to Pokhara [827m/2,713ft, after arriving Birethanti you will take car to Pokhara. Overnight at hotel in Pokhara
Day 13: Fly to Kathmandu [35 minutes]. Transfer to hotel and stay overnight
Day 14: Free day for fancy shopping in Kathmandu. Overnight in hotel
Day 15: Final departure
