Rock Climbing refers to an activity that requires climbing up or climbing across a natural or artificial formation of rock in order to conquer the summit or a predefined point of the route. This adventurous activity is being among the tourists who come to Nepal to enjoy their holidays and leisure time. This site is among the most demanded sites for rock climbing. The spot has a wide range of options for climbers. They can choose according to their skills and the one that suits them best. This site is also a great place for beginners. However, even professionals can enjoy a climb here. Nagarjun is located only 3 km away from the Kathmandu Valley and requires a 30 minute drive from the Thamel area. Again a 30 minute of hiking will let us access the spot from the entrance gate of the Nagarjun Forest Reserve. The reserve is protected by a large group of armies. As per the rules of the reserve, the check out time is 5 o’clock in the evening. Rock climbing here can be arranged along with mountain biking in this site.

The Hattiban rock climbing spot is located on the way to the famous pilgrimage site ‘Dakshinkali Temple’. This site is recommended especially for professionals where they can enjoy their climb according to grades. Hattiban is 1 hour of drive away from the Thamel area. Again another 30 minute of hiking is required in order to reach the exact spot.

Balaju is located north west of Kathmandu. A 30 minute of drive takes us to the place from the Thamel area. Again a 30 minute of hiking provides access to the rock climbing spot. This spot is one of the nearest one among the 22 rock-climbing spots. This spot provides climbing grades from 4a to 9b+ and multi pitch 65m to single pitch 12m.
