Arun River Rafting is one of the most popular and adventurous water sports in Nepal. The country is home to four major water systems. The Arun River is a tributary of one of them; the Koshi water system. The river is one of the favourite destinations for river rafting. Rafters from all around the world along with the native Nepalese find the river a great spot for rafting. This particular river originates from the Tibetan region of China, where it is called as Bum-Chu.
The Arun is the largest trans-Himalaya river in Nepal. Also, it has the greatest amount of snow and ice covered. Besides, the river covers almost half of the area of the Sapta Koshi river system but discharges only a quarter of it. This is because about 80 percentage of the Arun River pass through the rain shadow area of the Himalaya Regions.
Arun River leaves Tibet and cuts through the Northern Himalaya Regions of Nepal. The river gets its speed with the steep hills and gorges from which it passes through. It later meets the Koshi River to form Sapta Koshi River system. Being a tributary of one of the major water systems in Nepal, rafters find it a very suitable one to try their skills of adventures and challenges here.
The river also provides as irrigation to a large portion of vegetation through the country. If you are among them who want to try their rafting skills, you are on the right place to make it out.
