Dolpo is located in the Shy-Phoksundo National Park of mid-western Nepal. It is one of the most isolated part of the country. It is covered by snow at most of the times of the year. Times are hard for the inhabitants living here. They live their lives practicing trade and cultivation. But for trekkers, this place seem heaven to them.

Ba-yul, a more isolated part of the Dolpo Region was first inhabitated by the Rokpa farmers and the Drokpa nomads in the early 10th century. This place is scattered by fortress like house and monasteries with beautiful natural wonders around and gorgeous panoramic views of the valleys. Plants and wild lives in this region include snow leopards and blue sheep. Vegetations are a little rare here comparatively.

A trek through Dolpa becomes lifelong memorable and not easily forgotten. The way to Dolpa has several routes. Like, we can either start from Pokhara or Jumla. Similarly, we can also take a flight from Nepalgunj to Juphal. From Juphal, we head to Dunai, which is the district headquarter. And again, walking through the banks of river like Barbung, we get to Tarakote. Finally from there, we reach the highest point of the trek named Numa La [5,190m]. From this point, we can have a magnificent view of Dhaulagiri in the south and Tibetan Valleys in the north.
