Lower Dolpo Trekking is all about trekking in the lower regions of Dolpo. This region is located in the mid-western part of the country. Geographically, this place is similar to the plateaus of Tibet. The landscape of lower Dolpa is comparatively flawless that makes the spot one of the best ones for trekking. This place is usually cold, dry and well vegetated.
The untouched lower Dolpa is full of adventures. This rain shadow area was opened for trekking in 1991. Since then, this place has been the favourite for trekking lovers and extroverts. The formation here is quite remote but a luring one. This place is rich in natural beauties as well as cultural heritage. The mountain views far away seem as artistically painted background to the village. The unique scenes here beat up any other trekking spot in the entire country.
The prime attraction here is Shey Phoksundo National Park. Numerical species of wild lives and birds are preserved. Taking a glance at the lives can be a one time achievement of life. They might not be available in other parts of the world and since they are endangered they might not be available in the same place itself in the near future. The trek is started from Juphal and back to Juphal at the end. The trek can be completed in two ways; either clockwise or anti-clock wise. In both of the routes, the Phoksundo Lake and the Tarap valley are the focal points to the trek.
Trekking in Lower Dolpa is an adventure which is full of enthusiasm and excitement above all.
